Handpiece Maintenance
& Repair Guide
1. Disconnect your handpiece from the dental unit
2. Remove the bur whilst wearing gloves
3. Wash the handpiece with cold water
4. Shake the handpiece maintenance spray can vigorously
5. Holding the can upright, insert the nozzle into the base of the handpiece. Ensure the correct related nozzle is used
6. Spray for 1-2 seconds into a tissue
7. Purge (run) the handpiece for 20 – 30 seconds or spray until the excess oil being blown into the tissue is clean
8. Wipe off excess oil with a dry tissue
9 Place handpiece into the autoclave - Do not use pouches unless you are using a vacuum autoclave
10. Select the correct cycle -Do not use a drying cycle in a non vacuum autoclave
11. When the cycle is complete take the handpiece out immediately
